I want to interpret, rather than describe social reality. People blame me of being too deconstructionist. I tend to look for two things when I observe the world: a) nationalism; b) class warfare. Some of the issues I have paid attention to are symbolic conflicts and discursive nationalism; contentious politics; diversity and political belonging, social, political and demographic transformation and how all of these issues are framed and debated in public policy or elsewhere. Currently, I am putting a lot of effort in transcending the regional perspective of the Western Balkans and shifting towards global affairs, with a special emphasis of the changing makeup of Europe and Asia.
